Challenge
There was a lack of Spanish conversation books for the adult continuing education market.
Solution
The 4-part ¡A Conversar! book series came from the original Bridging the Gap in Comunicación series. The series is intended for community colleges and continuing education programs for students wanting to learn conversational Spanish. For each level, there is a Student Workbook, Instructor Guide, and accompanying audio files. The books are currently available on Amazon.com and Lulu.com.
Results
The books have been used in continuing education programs for the past 16 years. They are currently available for sale on Amazon.com and Lulu.com. While originally offered on a CD, the audio files are now available for download.
My process

Plan
Many Spanish textbooks were on the market, but I wanted to create a series specifically for adult learners for continuing education courses. I wanted a book for students to learn to converse, with little grammar instruction.

Design
I designed a 4-level Student Workbook series, designed for 16-20 hours of instruction. These were accompanied by 4 Instructor Guides with activity and conversation ideas to assist the instructor.

Develop
The final result of the cover and inside pages were developed in InDesign.
