Challenge
Medical providers and nurses often need to assess pain levels immediately to assist a patient. Often, a certified medical interpreter is not available and it is difficult to assess the condition of the patient through the language barrier.
Solution
This module was designed to bridge the communication gap while a medical interpreter can be located in-person or on the phone.
Results
The “Pain” module is part of the larger “Medical Spanish” eLearning course that is currently being sold through several 3rd part vendors.
My process
01
Plan
I researched various kinds of pain and the Spanish translations. I planned to have a simple eLearning module for nurses and providers to be able to assess their patient’s pain.
02
Design
I designed a simple eLearning module in Rise with the following categories: Introduction, Pronunciation, Learn, Tips, Practice, Flashcards. I also separated sections with dividers to reduce the cognitive load.
03
Develop
The module was developed in Rise using simple text blocks, as well as embedded iFrames, digital flashcards, Storyline integrations, and pdf downloads.
