Challenge

Among many Pronto Spanish’s clients, there was confusion as to how to input the Spanish-speakers’ name  into the database and where to file their information. Individual records were being entered and filed in various ways as the employees did not understand the naming system of many Spanish-speakers and therefore had multiple records of the same person.

Solution

I planned, designed, and developed a brief Storyline module that explains how the naming system is used in many Spanish-speaking countries.

Results

With the interactive module, learners were able to quickly understand how the two last name system works in many Spanish-speaking households. With this training, learners will be able to file their records appropriately.

My process

01

Plan

My clients in the medical field, human resources, and law enforcement often were confused by the two last names of many Latino families. I therefore planned how to help them learn the naming system using their own name as an example.

02

Design

I designed a storyboard that would first expose learners to the two last names of many Latino families. Included was an interactivity that would help to determine the learner’s last names if they had been born in a Spanish-speaking country.

03

Develop

The final result was an eLearning module developed in Articulate Storyline, which included triggers, layers, buttons, hotspots, and inputs.
