Challenge

Students taking the ed2go’s Spanish courses (including Spanish in the Classroom, Spanish for Medical Professionals, and Spanish for Law Enforcement) wanted additional ideas to practice their conversation skills.

Solution

I decided to create a Conversation Guides for each course that could be used in small groups – either in the workplace or with friends/family.

Results

A 12-page Conversation Guide was designed to complement the online course. There was one page for each of the 12 lessons. Students would first review previous content and would then have ideas to practice the new vocabulary. Many students would take the course with their colleagues and then be able to practice with this guide in weekly conversation group sessions.

My process

01

Plan

I went through each lesson content, including vocabulary and grammar. I started each conversation session with a review of previous content and planned to build from this base.

02

Design

I designed a simple Conversation Guide that was not graphically fancy, but simple to download, print, and use. Each page included the title, lesson description, and practice ideas.

03

Develop

This Conversation Guide was developed for students taking ed2go’s Spanish in the Classroom and is now include as an optional download for further conversation practice among friends and colleagues.
