Challenge

There are many task and project management apps currently available for teams to work efficiently. All appeared to require a bit of a learning curve. I wanted something very easy, such as a simple “to do” list. I had too many ongoing checklists on paper that became messy and disorganized.

Solution

I found Todoist to be perfect for my needs as a solopreneur. It allowed me to clean up my checklists in an easy-to-use electronic version that I can use on my computer or phone. This tutorial explains its simplicity to be able to start immediately.

Results

I shared this screencast with my interns so that we could be working on the same project and be on the same page regarding task management.

My process

01

Plan

I have used several task and project management apps, but often found them complicated. When I found Todoist.com, I wanted to share this simplistic app with my interns and others individuals looking for a simple tool. A written script was the first part of the plan.

02

Design

After the initial script, I planned and designed the actions I would take during the video recording. I slightly changed and updated the script before recording the audio.

03

Develop

I recorded the audio in Audacity and played it while recording the video in Camtasia. I then went back into Camtasia to add additional animations and interactivity.
