Instructor-Led Materials

I created two PowerPoint slide decks following the PSRE eLearning Certification course. These were intended for an instructor-led course, which could be either virtual or in-person. One slide deck was for a 2-day training. The other slide deck was for a condensed Study Jam.

Participant Materials

A “Pre-Work & Post-Course Guide” was created to help participants manage their time to prepare for the exam. I also created an interactive Study Guide for participants to complete during their 2-day Instructor-Led Training.

My process

Challenge

IT Professionals who were seeking the PSRE Certification were struggling to pass the Certification exam. I was asked by IBM to create additional materials for the Instructor-Led Trainings, as well as study materials for the participants.

 

Solution

As a freelancer, I was asked to work on four different projects for the Professional Site Reliability Engineer (PRSE) role: 1) Content Mapping of the current 45 hour eLearning course, 2) a 2-day Instructor-Led Virtual Training with Instructor Notes, 3) a 1-day Study Jam, and 4) Flashcards to help prepare for the exam.

Deliverables

  • An Excel spreadsheet mapping the Certification Exam questions to the 45 hour eLearning course
  • A PowerPoint presentation for the 2-day Instructor-Led Training, including detailed instructor notes
  • A “Pre-Work & Post-Course Guide” for the participant
  • An interactive Participant Study Guide that corresponded with the 2-day Instructor-Led Training
  • 10 Study Jam PowerPoints, corresponding with the 10 Sections of the eLearning course, including Learning Objectives, Modules, Overviews, and Course Review Questions
  • 115 Flashcard Questions reviewing the eLearning material and preparing for the certification exam
